I have recently asked a couple of my Korean friends if they were taught Poetry while they were in Korea. The 2 of them both said no and the one that stayed longest in Korea was until grade 7.

I was just wondering if Korean Poetry is taught in Korea's education curriculum?? I only know that in China, poetry are taught alongside history in elementary school (I used to know a couple) but no attempt on the written is made due to obvious reasons. I can imagine that it would be hard to teach Korean poetry in school as most of them were written in Hanja, but can anyone confirm this??

Same goes out to the japanese counterpart as well, does anyone know any information on this???
