Full Version: What is that Bay in Cambodia?

do you see it? would that make a good place to have a city? how come i dont see anything there? are cambodian not a sea-people? you guys are inland people?

The name is Chok Kompong Som (Chok=Bay). And there is a city there once called Krong Kompong Som. In the 50s HM the King developed it a lot and renamed it Krong Seihanouk (Khmer pronounciation) but it's known as Sihanoukville to non Khmers. I think this is the only trading port in Cambodia. In ancient Cambodia there was O-Keo (Oc-eo) now part of Vietnam.

And the KOH KONG is a place for making good business, trading, investent all stuffs in that place...Its so popular civilian KhmerPeople who are living there including RockHeart...Most people living in there, they speaking by billingual Language...Khmer and Thai. im talking about the bay. it looks like a stragetic and safe place for harbor, it even has a island in front of it just like manila bay. but i guess since cambodia is bordering countries who are historically invader, they need to concentrate more on their land then the sea.

cambodian harbor are not really good because of the mud and whatnot. You're talking like Khmer didn't invade a bunch of land in their golden age icon_rolleyes.gif
