I've read some posts where people get mad when people mistake them for other ethnicity. But for me, when people mistake me for another ethnicity, I find it refreshing. In fact, I find it cool that I look like other ethnicity. I've been mistaken for vietnamese, hispanic, and one time, some asian girl in 'China Buffet' asked if I was korean; I was probably squinting like crazy that time. Also, a week ago, someone actually thought I was half white. That really made my day.
So stop acting like you don't like it. You know deep down it's cool when it happens.

filipinos are the most diverse people in asia... some filipinos like to be mistaken for another ethnicity, and some of us are offended..
may be you are one of those filipinos with extreme chinese features with very slanted eyes and single eyelids...
then you can be mistaken for these ethnicities that you've mention..

I live in Korea and it does get old, although very understandable. I've been mistaken for Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian, Thai even Guamanium and Hawaiin. It's the same thing every single time and I just get tired of explaining.

People should use what they have as an advantage.
If you are perceived as white, you can easily get a taxi; when you get into the taxi, just start talking Tagalog so you don't get overcharged; when you get to the club, start dancing as if you were some soul brother so everyone will take notice; when people approach you, start faking the accent when they ask where you're from to start building some connections and/or after party invitations; and when you approach the ladies, spend money like you're some Eurasian who has unlimited Euros in his pocket. When all is said and done all that's left is to party like a rockstar and then go to bed like a pornstar.
If you got it flaunt it but complaining is only for those who don't know how to take advantage of a good thing.

because its annoying.
I get the "What are you?" question on a weekly basis.
People think I'm Peruvian, Brazilian, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Hawaiian, Samoan, Cambodian, etc.
but no one ever guesses Japanese...
and when I do say I'm Japanese, they say I don't look Japanese.
I have to explain that I'm 1/2 Ryukyuan.

I'm pretty good at telling someone's nationality. Do you have a picture? Maybe it's the ainu blood that makes you not look japanese, though I can tell ainu from typical caucasian features.
