Though the architecture is controversial in VN, I think it is a nice place to live. It is very idyllic, gree and has many stuff from an international school to a fast food restaurant. They will build a very large mall there soon, namely Ciputra Mall.

^ the architecture is so indonesia. it is like building mini Indonesia-town in Hanoi.
Majapahitans
Yes... the style is Ciputra, especially those horses statues.
Just like upscale housings in Jakarta, awfully similar to Kelapa Gading neighborhood.
DutchEastIndiesMan
^Ummmm Kelapa Gading....how i miss my home there.....

@ Topic
I don't like these kind of houses.... they all look the same and it feels like everyone who lives there, lives a very boring life, go to work go home eat dinner and sleep.......this type or architecture just doesn't appeal to me.

omygawd! jawdrop.gif I think it's like removing mini Indonesia-town to Hanoi! It's characterless! I'm planning a trip to Vietnam and I'm not expecting to feel like I'm just somewhere on the corner of Kelapa Gading! cry2.gif

The KG houses design is not exactly Indo vernacular architecture either its more or less mediterranean tropical with a flair of romanesque and gothic touch here n there.
Ciputra design teams prolly build to compete rather than to impress hence the copy paste architecture giving less appreciation n consideration to blend in a more uniquely Vietnamese identity.

Anyway they still look striking nevertheless, but wondering how much does it cost n how many years to pay off the mortgage.

that's sooo random....IT'S SOOOO INDONESIAN....I wonder why they chose HANOI...sooo random

Wo...i didn't know Indonesian companies are investing abroad at this scale!
But yes, i dont like the design, some unoriginal wannabee palaces. Mau pura2 ikut org bule...with those ugly Roman empire statue copies, like "the Palace Residence" in Medan near Bandara Polonia..
XxRyoChanxX
well those houses looks better than the town houses they build here in Cali
mybuddies
BUt, i remember......a taxi driver told us about a Ciputra tower (1 of 2) built on a graveyard, so that the tower has not very much guests biggrin.gif.

Me too. Pseudo-neo-roman style that only shows "bourgeoisness". Characterless and out-of-environment. But, it is interesting to me that he repeats this always. Looks like the market still opens, or just it shows ignorance of the consumers?
DutchEastIndiesMan
^Consumer ignorance.........I don't think much Indonesia care or even know about Pseudo neo Roman architecture ??? I don't....I don't think any of my relatives do....except for architects.
Those design are not for tropical climate, more like Mediterranean climate. Cool winters, Hot summers.
furansizuka
^ Well, these days my town is so damn cold at night and day coz it's rainy season. I bet when dry season comes, it'll be hot like hell. So long, tropical climate! (lama2 jadi OOT neh)

Ciputra group [and YLP Group, Cambodia] is also investing in Phnom Penh and I agree with some of you. The company is not very original. Same gate as Hanoi:

In Phnom Penh, there's less emphasis in high-rises and more emphasis in villas and townhouses. Different style of houses, BTW:

Maybe they thought it's time for them to spread the joy to other countries, as they have been very successful around Indonesia with the theme (we got one in South Borneo/Kalimantan Selatan too). biggthumpup.gif
