We Thais as much liberal as any others.
If it's approved with Thai Health Department - We'll surely taste it the very first day it arrive.
Dude, we Thai love drinking - and Drinking Beers 's actually our daily life' phenomenon -so to speak.

Remember, U.S. FDA DID humiliate money whore Jeks for their cheap products.... embarassedlaugh.gif If you cannot get from Laos, try to get from U.S. (I think theres two distributor plants).

He Jeks, keep making your cheap products cause you already behind by last 50 years, world is no longer manufacturing dependents, its post-industrial now! So yeah, Jek Thai brag all you want about your cheap product, smoke stack pollution factories & child/garlee workforces.... biggthumpup.gif cause as far I always remember & see waking up, is 21st technological world and not 19th century flashback! biggthumpup.gif

I haven't tried myself(still waiting to try it in Muang Lao). I read blogs and forums that BeerLao is far superior to all Thai beers, so I'm not surprised that the Thai government is afraid that BeerLao might cause other Thai beers to go out of business.

Some of them are probably upset that Falang/Farang tourists in Thailand are proudly wearing their "BeerLao" t-shirts throughout Thailand. The government would rather see their tourists wearing "BeerThai" t-shirts? LOL!

I'm sure they do, but more foreign tourists wear BeerLao t-shirts compared to other drinks in Laos and Thailand...especially the backpackers. So much so that even Thai companies are selling BeerLao t-shirts.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean people aren't wearing it. Maybe its just not around your area.

You're just jealous that foreigners are crazy about BeerLao t-shirts. BeerLao has taken on somewhat of a cult status as far as SEA beers are concerned.

From the Wallstreet Journal: http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print...Q_20090730.html

The next step: Bringing Beerlao to the rest of the world. The beer is already sold in several major markets, including Britain, Australia, Japan and the U.S.

"We were a bit skeptical at first," says James Morgan, a director at British distributor Milestone Point Ltd. "But it's one of the few brands where the customer seeks it out rather than the other way round."

Beerlao is winning fans in the U.S., too. Paul Sher, general manager at one of the beer's U.S. distributors, H.C. Foods Co. Ltd. in Commerce, Calif., says Beerlao is picking up some momentum at supermarkets and other outlets.

Jek Thai government is cared of the word "BEER LAO", because it's more like Lao is invading them psychologically. There are many people in Thailand that identify themselves as ethnic Lao and have been discriminated by Jek and central thai for generations. Now they can proudly claim that they are Lao without worrying about the consequence of landing in jail or kill.

I think the next step, Lao government should broadcast Lao music, show, soap, culture into the heart of bangkock. What do you think jek ?

Long live Lao Lanxang and BeerLao. music-smiley-004.gif

I heard Lao writting script is making a comeback. Remember when the Thai government took away all forms of Lao writting and burnt down Lao books in Issan. And now, from what I heard, there's a revival going on and certain parts of Issan are re-introducing Lao writing script.
