Here is an interesting article form "Malaya" news on-line:
We can understand the concern of Madam Auring's kids over her forthcoming wedding to a 20-year-old guy named Archie Mendoza. Madam Auring cannot be less than 60 years old so marrying someone who can be her grandchild is really outrageous.
The guy might say he is so much in love with Madam Auring, but the whole thing still seems very wrong and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. After all, can he possibly stand making love to an old woman whose face seems to have undergone so many renovations that she looks like a clone of Michael Jackson, most evident in her repaired pointed nose?
Madam Auring's children, Maritess, Rigor and Marilyn, confessed in "Startalk" that they used to be proud when people referred to them as the kids of Madam Auring "dahil sikat na sikat ang aming ina."
But they now feel embarrassed by her as she keeps on guesting in various TV shows with her inamorato who obviously enjoys all the exposure he's getting. Honestly, what does Madam Auring expect to gain in flaunting her affair with a much younger man? Does she think other women will envy her because a young man professes to be head over heels in love with her on national TV? We know she has always been a hopeless publicity hound who quarrels on camera with other showbiz oddities, like Mystica. But this time, she's no longer amusing but really a disgrace to her gender.
Madam Auring even displayed her family's dirty linen in public, saying her kids, even if they're now married, continue to depend on her financially and are just worried they might lose their inheritance. In turn, her kids say Archie just applied to them as a houseboy, but ended up being their mom's lover.
Archie says he finished education and now works as a teacher. But he says he's only 20 years old, so this is not credible. If Madam Auring truly loves him, then she should get him a good wardrobe consultant pronto, because while they're being interviewed, he was clad in leather pants and jacket, an outfit hardly suited to our country.
The TV shows that continue to feature Madam Auring and continue to tolerate her ludicrous shenanigans should also be censured. It could be possible her clownish antics help them rate, but in the process, they don't realize that they are degrading the dignity of this person who clearly has a warped sense of values. Please stop exploiting her ignorance and stop aiding and abetting the spread of crassness and crudity on TV that impressionable young viewers might think is the norm rather than the exception.
