In my opinion Nick Diaz is not that good i dont think he has any impressive victories except one against josh neer and and a overturned win due to marijuana against takanori gomi.
Honestly Frank Shamrock is not that good imo neither is Ken, i see Diaz by TKO or maybe a Kimura.

Both the Shamrocks are way passed their prime, but him and Cung Le are local gods around my area.

The fight that got my attention with Nick Diaz is the one with Lawler.

However, I must admit I have lost interest in all UFC events. I prefer watching Japanese events like WVR Sengoku, Shooto, Deep and Dream. Iunno, a lot of the fighters in UFC just rub me the wrong way. The fighters in the Japanese events seem more respectful, except Overeem (he can be a douche sometimes).

You can do ezekiel substitutes without the gi. Fist chokes are about the same concepts as ezekiels.

Yeah but the thing is the Ezekiel choke is a much higher percentage submission do to fact that you can grip the gi.

uppercuts are rather easy to avoid because most ppl just throw it out rather than set it up. if they don't set it up, best thing to do is step to the outside and throw any 1-2 variatoin combos.

I dont fight professionally but i had this great idea wen i was drunk to have one of my homeboys choke me out to c how long itd take for me to go to sleep. it didnt take long

Uppercut is really not a powerful punch, it rocks you so bad because it hits the jaw from the bottom.
Here are several counters
1) lean back a little.
2) step back and counter
3) clinch tight and knee
4) block down and elbow face
5) stay outside. uppercut is a close in strike.
