Canadian files complaint vs. bar girl for extortion
Updated March 18, 2009 12:00 AM
CEBU, Philippines - A Canadian national has filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation against his former lover, reportedly a bar girl, who allegedly extorted P1.3 million from him.
Michael William Lougheed said that his ex-lover Rodesa Rosales, 25, a native of Bohol, works in one of the bars in Cebu City and that he met her six months ago in the bar. Later on, he convinced her to quit working as a stripper. At that point, Rosales told him that she has to work to pay debts amounting to P800,000. Despite giving her the amount, Lougheed learned that Rosales went back to the bar located in an uptown hotel to work again.
He said that Rosales reasoned out she has no other choice as she has to pay the medical bills of her sick mother. Out of kindness, Lougheed said, he gave another P500,000 to Rosales. But later on, Lougheed learned that Rosales mother died a year ago because of a heart attack.
“Rodesa is a pathological liar and made up a lot of stories just to swindle me of a lot of money. She said that her mother is sick with cancer, which in truth, her mother had already died a year ago,” Lougheed said.
Several witnesses already executed an affidavit against Rosales for the filing of appropriate charges in court. Lougheed warns other foreigners to be “very careful not to fall into Rodesa’s evil schemes”.
