You know the word on the street is japanese cars are not as reliable and as solidly built as they used to be. Also, american automakers are catching up and surpassing them.

Also, many find the designs quite ugly and are now choosing american or european. also, even korean cars are getting better than japanese.

that's cuz the japanese cars are getting built outside of japan to bypass the import restrictions.
japanese cars made in japan are probably alot better

i like the new designs, especially the civic and the camry.. and lexus

it doesn't seem so. it seems they are just not building them as well as they used to whether in japan or not.

I presume that's a US survey, as far as I've noticed the J cars haven't moved much in the UK. Overall it's known that there have been more flaws with J cars than there used to be due to the substantial increase in worldwide production. Having said that, Korean cars haven't overtaken them nor have they established themselves as being on a par with them but they're certainly getting closer to the quality/reliability of J cars (I say they, I should probably just say Hyundai).
kudos

Or Toyota and Honda are making some ugly fugly @$$ cars these days.

I drive a TSX made straight from Japan...But cars like TL and Accords aren't. Doesn't effect their reliability..

Honestly, when I finally finish paying off the TSX I'm going to trade it in for a German Lux or dare I say a Hyundai Genesis coupe.

Something with power, rwd, and under 30k.
