Who's more popular in Thailand? Potato or Nologo? Do the Thai members in here prefer Potato or Nologo to represent Thai rock?
Anyway, I like that the newer generation of Thai rockers can actually sing, whereas many of the original Thai rockers (i.e. from the 80's/90's) had a bad habit of singing out of tune. Thai rock production has come a long way and I think it now sounds as good as what we've got here in the U.S....so good job, Thailand!
Comparing the bad vocals in classic Thai rock to the polished vocals in modern Thai rock is a good example to demonstrate the importance of having solid vocal production.Old Thai rock:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmK0xui-W0wModern Thai rock:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxzEc0ZRlH4
^It almost sounds like a different language! Huge improvement!
I think that Potato is more popular now, but Nologo was like the icon of rock in the 90s. Yeah I don't like the oldies, too. I can't stand Carabao and all the crap they made years ago. If you like newer Thai rock I recommend you Big @$$ (Len Kong Soong), Bodyslam (Ok Huk) and Big @$$ (Yang Noi / Hormones OST).
The song called Waan you posted reminds me of my last trip to Thailand.
