^ Actually, most of the guys love to show off what their wives or girlfriends made for them. Its a source of pride. Its about all the loving care a woman has taken to prepare for you a bento.

In High School or at the office, a girl can show a guy she likes him by preparing him a bento.

One of the worst things a person can do is eat another mans bento. That's asking for a fight!

im familiar with this custom. i saw it in several J dramas. my post was more about the allowance cuts for men.

men can do delicious mouth watering bento or packed lunches than their wives.....

I think wives giving men allowances is a Japanese thing. I never saw this in USA. Here, men control the money.

I'm single so the thought of someone else controlling my money is a bit scary.

Possible, but bento in Japan carries special connotations. Its more of a show of affection than a lunch.

Whats all this J Drama stuff? I'm talking about lunch. I don't watch that many J dramas, are they making some big deal about Bento?
