The protest and subsequent riot were organized and done mostly by the uighur university student in xinjiang. They got too much time at their hand and lived in the internet 24/7.. spreading rumor and lies and colluding with external separistist folks oversea. That's one big bad side effect of uncontrolled internet which cause this riot.
In the days of internetless, I doubt this riot would occur.


of the 1500 suspects arrested, many of them who got accused of murdering people were done by uighur unverisity students!!

Chinese authority have said doesn't matter if they are students if they found committing murders then they would be executed.

I think probably many who joined the protests were university students. I find it hard to believe that the university students were the ones killing in the back alleys.

I'm disappointed at the lack of hacker activity against uighur independence sites like WUC. what's going on? people too focus on Urumqi to bother with Kadeer?

the internet is a realm of discussion, and the problem should be solved by the path of discussion, deep thinking about the content and quality of argumentation, among issues discovering the best principles that should be followed, and finally consent.

physical matters like fighting are mainly matters of concreate immediate interest. ideology has no substance without physical backing.
without problem, no ideology can make people fight wars. include greed to the pool of problems though.

therefor global internet communication should be allowed to contribute to solve the problems in a rational way.
statistically the amount of error would decrease with the amount of factions taking part in the discussion. in virtual world this is feasible.
just it takes some longer time, and physucal matters may be urgent for some group of people.
a better internal discussion among the uigurs may even calm down the extremists, if physical matters are in good state. use the surplus of dollars in a wise way..
give the peaceful people a louder voice.
