Thanks samesame.
I disagree with the links, of course, but there is nothing wrong with gentle evangelism. You want to point people towards what you perceive to be the Truth - and that is the right thing to do.
I'd be remiss not to ask you to consider Jesus in the manner described by CS Lewis. Is HE Liar, Lunatic, or LORD?
There really is no middle ground (e.g., 'He was a prophet and good man, but not GOD...'). HE testified that HE was God by HIS actions and words:
* Calmed the raging winds and the waters by the simple words: 'Peace be still';
* Said that HE was the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no man could come onto the Father except through HIM.
* Never dissuaded any one from worship of Himself (IF HE was not God this would be blasphemy).
* And 'when the chief priests and scribes asked HIM if HE was the Son of God (making Himself equal to God) HE said, "Ye say that I AM" (i.e., 'ye say right', or 'it is the very truth') '
HE rose from the dead (HE alone of the various religious 'leaders' is not moldering in a grave), and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.
Liar, Lunatic, or LORD?
The question put to everyone and the one answer in our lives which we must get correct. Reason and consider and weigh the evidences.
Philippians 2:6-12 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
