If you can afford it, then go for it.
The S2000 is a great handling car with decent power if you like high revving engines. I've always love the lines on the S2000 also. Very simple and clean. I do view them slightly feminine, but that's due to the convertible and removable top factor. For $40k though, I might add another $10k for a new C6 Z06 or find a used C6 Z06. If I wanted to go import, I'd pick the MKIV twin turbo Supra. Both of these cars will hold better value as well.

The S2000 is a great car but I would only buy them used even if I can afford the brand new one.
I agree with Psycho John, for $40K, just add $10K & you can buy a new Z06 which is a better & faster sports car comparing to the S2000.

Decent cars, I have a lot of friends with them. Power isn't too bad, but for 40k I'd expect more lo.l.

My mistake, $50K is for the regular Corvette.

I would think a base corvette should be more fun as well, lol.

The shell looks nice but the interior is $hit. Handling is great, but should have at least 250hp for a 35k+ car. The Z owns the s2k out of the box.

S2K is pure sex, but the price tag just doesn't justify, especially with the clumsy interior. IMO the only Honda worthy paying that much of money for is NSX, period ...

but when nsx was new it was 124 000 canadian for that price you can buy a lotus elise which performs better and also buy a sti for winter.

Lotus Elise and Sti are both every fast cars, but they dont have something the NSX was born with - Class. It's like a Ferrari of Japan.

S2k are pretty hot. Great handling cars for the track.
But for a 2-seater sports car, it needs more power out of the box. Even my BOAT of an Acura TL Type-S can still hang with or even best them on the straights.
They go a long way with mods though!

IMO, I hate the exterior of it!
I would rather get a used r34.

Go with used, you can find them for under $20g's. Great little cars, feels like you're in a c@ck pit, but definitely test drive one because if you're picky you will hate long rides in it.

I know it's been quite a while but I found Honda S2000 but I found it to be reliable due to it's high winding engine cylinder and balanced chassis. Too bad that as of this moment this car model is not available.
