Anime characters are not gay, they just look less hairy, macho, aggressive and ape-ish than what machismo western culture demand of guys to be strictly adhering to.

Emos are just ripoffs from Japanese street-styles and Goth styles.

Which Gundam are you referring to? The early Gundam shows (like the original Gundam and Zeta Gundam) and the most recent one (Gundam 00) all put a heavy emphasis on politics and have very few "emo" characters. I suppose you're probably referring to Gundam Wing or Gundam SEED?

Gundam anime is one of my favorite robot anime show.
