There are VERY VERY intelligent Americans, such as the one who wrote this book:
http://books.google.ca/books?id=jPAjv5FsKM...lem&f=falseOf course, let's not forget that America is home to some pretty darn good companies: GM, Chrysler, Ford, Lockheed, HP, Dell, Intel, AMD, General Dynamics, etc.

Well, they are not bad brands. GM has been the world's largest automaker for a long time, and they have some pretty darn good cars, such as the Malibu and the Impala. Chrysler has the very good 300. Ford has the new Taurus. I have a Saturn Aura and it's absolutely fantastic.

That video is for entertainment. They have videos for different nations.
Whats so bad about GM except for the price of there autos.
There are still plenty of 70's Chevrolet Novas on the streets running here. Some look like they have been through much but they keep going. Many say the engine is virtually indestructible.
Engine Photo of a 76 Nova:
This is a 250 hp 6 cyl. in-line engine with no air condition. There were many 350 hp 8cyl. models.

The new Ford Fusion and Dodge Charger are top of the game. I do expect the Detroit brands to become popular again very soon.

Lol I liked the British one. That lady at the end was awesome.
Also WOW at the amount that said FORD is a British brand. HAVE YOU NO SHAME?!
EDIT:
Btw I have just resigned to the fact that people in general, regardless of colour, gender, race or creed, are pretty fu-king stupid. It is VERY hard to find someone that is as aware of the outside world as I am, and most happen to be members of my family. I find politics DAMN boring yet I often find myself with more things to say than someone who is ready to start a fueling debate.
Sure you know there was a Civil War in Sri Lanka. They came and blocked your morning commute or better yet, they ruined your Jay's game. That doesn't make you educated. I'd like to see you find that country on a map, IDIOT. I'd like to see you explain a the reasons for civil war beyond the fact that Tamils have $hitty haircuts and listen to rap music.
Let's get Obama's Death Panels rollin', I am ready to ax some b!tches, on both sides of the border.
-------
Actually I will say that people I've met in university (being a liberal arts college) are in general a lot less stupid (provided they, like myself, did not actually major in liberal arts «more specifically: «COMMUNICATION STUDIES»). In high school it was such a joke though. Those Asian boys/girls with 90+ averages, honour roll, volunteers at church, loves math and science etc etc... ALL fu-kING DUMMMBBBB. Bolivia, Indonesia and Croatia could all be in Africa for all they cared.

I don't know, I don't think I would totally believe this vid. Are you sure it's not fake? And who knows there might be a lot more giving the correct answers, but they get edited out. So I guess us believing this vid will result in a potentially ironic situation...

I am of the same opinion as yours; but I don't consider this vid as a judgement against Americans
And I am quite sure they've cut people who gave the right answers out
Only I find that the questions and answers are funny, either it's fake or not

Haha, glad you don't. Poor Americans if we do. : P
Yea, I did have a good laugh at what they said too. I'm amazed how in the British and German versions no one 'knows' how many sides a triangle has as well!

Being able to remember information assigned to you to study (or maybe write it on your palm) doesn't necessarily show broad awareness as much as it shows the ability to retain information long enough to pass a test or cheat. I find plenty of people who do well academically and don't remember what they were taught half of the time despite their high marks.

Actually, the German version is a real fake. They put behind the scene at the end of the clip.

Most British people regard Ford as British (even though its American), must be because Ford used to have so many plants here.
I kept getting the "you are in a race and you overtake the second person, what place are you in" question wrong lol. It's an answer you give without thinking about it! Not sure I should have admitted that.

Lol we have A LOT of Ameican car plants here in Canada but we all KNOW none of it is Canadian branding...
Just somewhat surprising since there are a decent amount of British brands out there.

True, many of the Ford's sold in the UK used to be designed in the UK too though , and not sold in the US. So they were British in character, and as different as chalk and cheese in style/engineering from an American car. Which probably also contributed to (a now inacurate) sense of them being British.
Haven't all the Canadian's that have mistaken American things as Canadian been hung from the nearest lampost in canada? lol The silly gene has hence been eradicated?

Canada is like the 51st state of the US. We think we are just as American as the USers. Remember, Canada is in North
America.

90+ averages are incredibly hard to achieve and anyone who dismisses this as merely memorization, may have forgotten that, in major exams for advanced subjects, there are difficult, less straight forward questions which go beyond textbook material and require a thorough understanding of the coursework to even answer.

well, they can use the excuse they have no education since a lot of them don't as it's not compulsory like it is in the states. though one could argue also that the education system is spotty and crappy too and it is, even where smart kids excel anyways. that's because they are smart enough to figure it out on their own or resourceful enough to understand. this does not excuse a poor educational system though.
