I think i should attend this year. I've been away from the Hmong community waaay too long.

I'm very excited when September arrives.

I've been away from the Hmong community way too long as well.
Started going to Hmong functions and cultural events.
I've been noticing many changes, whether it be good or bad.

I think it's great that we as Hmong have these cultural events annually because
it reinforces our cultural identity and heritage in the states.

Not many ethnic groups have festivals like us. It seems like we have a lot.

You should. Even though I don't have any reason to go there since I don't know anyone anymore I still think it's alright just to see it for a little while. Even if I'm walking around by myself like an idiot lol. I had to be with security there last year. It was fun but very long hours haha. It's almost depressing when they put you in a corner away from everybody for like 5 hours hahah.

Daaaang. I know how you feel. I too, worked as a security once at the U of M. They put us all at corners and doors for 4-5 hours while the games go on. Bummer! >__<

Oh you have a brother it's all good. Last year I met a bunch of cool people doing security so it wasn't as bad.

Wow, time sure flies right on by when you have your hands full. It seems like just yesterday I was at HNY and bought my first phrasebook there from Yupheng Xiong himself. That was the beginning of my journey... I remember it all too well, the anticipation, the wonder, the excitement. Didn't know what to expect, really. But it was a wise choice; I've met many people and learned so much since then. I've come a long way but still have a long road to walk.

If we do meet up, how about some practice? I'm sure we could all use some.

It's 5 hour shift. 10 hours total each day. 5 hour break in between LOL. You're there the whole day. It's a good reason to be there though haha.
