Hey, everyone. My name is Camille and I live in New York. I joined this site because I get bored easily while on the internet but also I've been self-teaching myself Korean since last summer so I'll probably browse the Korean forums but I'll also lurk in the general ones. I'm not Asian as you can probably tell by my avatar but don't worry, I'm not here to cause trouble or bash Asian people or anything trollesque like that. I'm just here to read some interesting discussions, participate in them and maybe learn something I didn't know about Asian cultures. A few things I like to do are write poetry, read, travel and freelance model. Hope to talk to some of you! laugh.gif

Umm, I do watch K-dramas but that's not why I chose to study an entire language. embarassedlaugh.gif embarassedlaugh.gif At the time I decided on Korean I hadn't ever watched a K-drama before. I watch them now though, occasionally.

At first I tried to learn Japanese but I just wasn't into it and studying it was boring to me. Maybe I wasn't attracted to the culture but I just couldn't have fun with it. Then I tried Korean and the reason I decided on Korean was because at the time I was getting more and more into the music and when I learned about things belonging to Korean culture I found it interesting. I've been to Japan and while I enjoyed myself there I didn't feel any sense of attachment but I feel that with Korean. I guess it's weird or hard to understand but that's what happened.

Also, the animefreaks probably subconsciously turned me off of Japanese.

Welcome, hope you enjoy your time here, although there are some internet fighting but occasionally there are useful and interesting cultural topics.

Haha I assumed your were addicted to k-drama. Annyeong haseyo were my first words too, it was so hard to pronounce it for me when an old korean woman 'taught' me those words q:

S00MPI.COM?

Btw- why is the link to S00MPI.COM banned in this forum? Did I miss something? Is it because AF is competing against that forum, or is it because there was a fight between the two forums?

CoCoa, welcome, so are you going to bash Bush or Obama or do you support them? Tell me why Obama has not done much so far?
