Ok i accidentally walked into a bible study group here on campus thinking it was something else. I listened to them and had questions on what they talked about in the meeting, very open mindedly tho. Now it was just a bunch of people reading passages from the Christian bible and they share all these different kinds of meanings from something that seems to have no more than one obvious meaning.
Now there are many reasons why people are religious. But what makes you religious (if you are)? In that study group they speak of how people are not perfect, everyone sins, but religion is suppose to help you always choose the good over bad. Now why would you need to Love Jesus to do good things? I can understand the "love" you have for Jesus (They consider him a god) is a way to show that if you have love for jesus you can love others. I dunno but i find it a little odd.
and another thing that really bothers me is that they use prayer as a primary means to solving their problems in many ways. I think prayer is a secondary reason and your choices/actions should be primary. maybe someone can share some insight (being OPEN MINDED) on the matter.
a last thing i noticed is that religious people hate when you question anything against their faith. They take it as it is no questions..
