There is and has been what many think(including myself), a disturbing flaw in Japanese society. Like a pack of wolves harass the omega member( the lowest wolf in the hierarchy ), a group, usually a class room, in Japan may pick on a weak, shy, or awkward person. This goes way beyond harassment or even hazing to the point were the victims stop going to school or even kill themselves. I have heard of similar incidences in China and Korea but never to the same extent as in Japan which leads me to believe that the basis of this social behavior is rooted somewhere in East Asian culture but particularly magnified in Japan.

For those wondering why the fat kid doesn't fight back against a bunch of girls, if he did hit one of the girls, the boys from the school would then come and really beat him( like he will go to the hospital ).

you must admit, the fat kid did have some honor in that he did not hit girls
