The American remake of "The Eye" is terrible. The original Hong Kong version was so much better.

"Eden Lake" is another good movie, It's not scary as in horror scary, but it's scary nonetheless. LOL Should check it out If you have too much time on your hands.

Strangers is the remake of a french movie called "Ils" aka "Them".

Should have checked out the original, it's a lot better than the remake.

If you watched the original, then it's "[REC]". If it was the American remake, then it was "Quarantine".

I had a lot of trouble watching this, or even of accepting it as a movie.
Lots of arty types were praising it in the media, but I could not get any meaning out of it, except that the film makers pushed the envelope of the extreme explicit torture genre.
I wrote about it in the Indonesian Movies topic, when we were discussing horror movies.
Feel free to go to that section and enlighten me about Martyrs, because I just didn't get it.

Two Indonesian horror films which I found to be a real blast are Rumah Dara (aka Macabre) and the horror anthology Takut: Faces of Fear.
If you have ever seen the type of juvenile horror flicks that Indonesia churns out, I can assure you these two films are of a much higher standard.
There is a link between them as well, since Rumah Dara expands the story of the Dara segment in Takut: Faces of Fear.
