Until the North Korean threat is eliminated, I wouldn't want US troops to leave South Korea. Japan is a different matter. I want the US to leave Japan as soon as possible.
As soon as the North is pacified or reunification talks are settled, I want the US to leave Korea as soon as possible. Korea can defend itself. The age of warfare between the East Asian countries is probably over. Korea doesn't need foreign troops on its soil once North Korean belligerence is dealt with.
