I don't hate the Chinese nor do I envy them. To be honest, I think we as Lao people should look at the Chinese as a motivation...no Asian country In My Opinion hit rock bottom as bad as the Chinese. The Chinese were once labeled The Sick Man of Asia. They were the laughing stock of Asia. That's just how bad they fell. But the Chinese finally woke up.

That's what we as Lao people need to do-Wake up. I look at our history and the Chinese and I see a lot similarities. Like the Chinese, we were once a dominate force in our region. The Thais(Siamese) and the Vietnamese couldn't compete with us just like the Koreans and Japanese couldn't compete with the Chinese. But in the end, we lost it all because of all the bickering and in-fighting.

If we as Lao people can put aside our differences, we could dominate South East Asia again like we did a few centuries back.

Southerners never as good as northerners. I think it's because of the climate. Hot weather makes hard to fight and think. Land too fertile make people lazy. So southerners don't advance or progress, only get invade and conquer by northern peoples.

Your reasoning is flawed. The Arabs live in one of the hottest places on earth and they were able to conquer other nations and people. At their peak, the Arabs were more advance than the Europeans.

What gave the Northern Chinese advantage and made them such a dominate force over all of "China" IMO was due the fact they were more or less United than other groups at the time.

From what I understand, Lao/Dai/Tai/Zhuang were never a United people until later in the 7th or 8th century. As history is proof that once our people united we were able to expand and carved out our own territory(or in a modern sense "country").

Power and wealth go hand in hand. Why you think the United States is(or should I say was) the most powerful country in the world. It's because of wealth. Now that China has the money( or wealth due to American politicians selling out) China has pretty much become a world power. China has a lot of clout because they have the wealth.
