I read somewhere Thailand claim Puan are the real Thai or Siamese? And they claim Puan are orinated from the westside of the mekong river in Isaan.

Some of the original Siamese may of came from XiengKhouang. was it David K Wyatt? studying the Language relationships, he said that the Dialect of Sukothai came from Loungprabang while the Dialect of Ayutthya came from Xiengkhouang.

remember that Xiengkhouang was one of the original Lao kingdom, founded at the same time as Loungprabang and Xiengkhouang, so perhaps groups of Puan from Xiengkhouang migrated into parts of Ayutthya before the creation of the Kingdom by Uthong. Maybe Uthong family are from Xiengkhouang. We dont know for sure what groups of Lao/Tai made up the bulk of the Lao/Tai of Ayutthya. The language relationship btw the Puan and Siamese suggest that it might be the Lao of Xiengkhouang that made up Ayutthya. Such as the Lao of Loungprabang heavely influenced and is perhaps the group of ppl that made up Sukothai.
