I'm very glad to see the Filipino youth finally subscribe to the superior ghetto culture.

Don't worry. Nobody in the Philippines want to be dark skinned and Afro haired.

On the other hand, Michelle Obama is never seen without her straight hair. hehehehe.

I don't think the main guy is Filipino. His mom is Thai. He could be half Filipino, I dunno. Most of the other people are acting really white. Nothing black about them.

The Philippines should start imposing a form of media control. We should limit the kinds of entertainment that penetrate our TV, films and airwaves. We must ban especially the importation of Black/Afro-American entertainment within our borders. Also, we must ban other kinds of immoral media that compliment sex, drugs, violence, etc. We must only take in wholesome entertainment.
Graham_Cracker07
^ Then we should ban Korean $hit because they try to act black too. It's funny because Koreans are probably the furthest thing from being black.

I don't watch Korean, so I don't know a lot about it. We could just probably delete selected and 'objectionable' scenes from movies, dramas, etc and not ban the whole thing in its entirety.
vanguardia
only going to work if we have our won high quality culture & entertainment programs, untilk then tough luck.

^^

sometimes i think it's pretty ignorant to say its "black" culture, or say people trying to act "black", "white", "brown". they're all just skin colors. they don't really define a person's personality or a culture. a more specific term are needed
martin_nuke
I thought that Koreans like to be like Europeans because they dress like Europeans and like European architecture. If you notice many houses in Korea looks European.

Seriously, though there is already a form of media control in the country.
As for banding "Black/Afro-American entertainment" however, I don't think that is going to happen when you have people running for government offices who step on the stage to rap songs by the likes of Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre.

Anyway, when does this kind of "lifestyle" stop being considered as "Black" and starts to be considered as "Filipino (or Fil-Am) lifestyle"? After all, this is a video from the "Friendship Games", a Filipino American ran activity meant to represent Filipino culture. Filipinos acting this way is nothing new.

Eun Jae (Han Chae Young) was a stubborn and head-strong girl who had a passion for cooking. She did not have any interest in going to college and with the help of her hig school friend, Jung Hyun Sung (Lee Chun Hee)ran away to Italy to enroll in a cooking school. Jung Hyun Sung who loved her dearly went along with her.

Han Yi-Joon (Jo Hyun Jae) came from a wealthy family. He travelled to Italy looking for his mother and there he ran into Eun Jae, who had also been seeking the same person to learn the secrets to making great pasta. She comforted Yi-Joon, who was distraught over his mother's remarrying, and they ended up making love. Yi Joon left Eun Jae the next morning over some misunderstanding. Eun Jae became pregnant and had no choice but to give up her dream and to return to Korea.

6 years later, Eun Jae was working in low paying restaurant jobs, Yi-Joon atarted to take over the operations of his family's business, and Hyun Sung was working as a chef for one of the restarurants owned by Yi-Joon and managed by Ji Soo Yeon (Hong Soo Hyun). Hyun Sung was good with Eun Jae's son and he was helping out Eun Jae's whole family financially as they had fallen on hard times. Yi-Joon found out that he still had feelings for Eun Jae as they ran into each other when he was looking for a new chef for his restaurant. The dramatic tension unfolds as the four main characters worked out their feelings for each other.

I saw this Korean music video when I was in the Philippines this summer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISEoXdHb4W4

They're trying to act black more than any of those Filipinos in the video that the OP posted. Koreans are also really big into Hip Hop. I just think it's funny that people make a big deal about Filipinos acting black, but they don't say anything about those goofy Korean wiggers. A Korean acting black looks about as goofy as a Norwegian trying to act black.

Didn't click the link, but some of the people in this thread need to go into Narcotics Anonymous. There has to be some kind of substance abuse involved in that kind of thinking.

I understand Sakimsakapangyarihan's mind set. He's the direct opposite of a sellout. There are not a lot of Filipinos who has this mentality. This mentality is common among the Japanese.

don't make "black" a problem. the corruption and decadence will immediately find a different backdoor.

I think it is a matter of fashion and emotion. black people have good understanding of a "collective/inclusive" asian culture.
OTOH white capitalism is over-individualistic and thus destructive.

where I ask you to make a huge difference:
as long as folks watch their good english, pass their exams and get their degrees, and avoid crime, it is all ok.
problem starts with the infection by hatred and actual gangsta culture, without reason, just for "protest" and goof.
also I can see the logic when people unite against racism, but when the ground is non-productive i.e. crime and wild party-subculture with drugs, there is no meaning and justification in this at all.

that above video is completely harmless. different looks is not evidence of being evil or inferior.
if asians in home country are overly critical then I guess they still not recovered from colonial mentality, or represent a questionable oligarchy. icon_wink.gif

Koreans gangsters do not try to act black at all.
If you know what real Korean gangsters are like.. there more like the mafia.
While no offence.. most of the Filipino "gangsters" iv seen just try to look mexican and dress mexican.
Koreans there are ranks and respect is huge
Big Difference... Blacks fight with guns, Koreans fight with fists , knives and bats

martin_nuke
First of all hip hop was invented by blacks in the bronx so in some degree it is black music or black wannabe. There can be hip hop variations which you can distinguish what sub genre of hip hop the artist of group are portraying.

When I first heard 2ne1 I thought they were black girls singing because they sing like blacks and if you close your eyes and listen to Korean rap you will think that a black person is rapping until you open your eyes and realize that it is not a black person rapping. Is that a good thing?

When pinoys rap you will notice that it is a pinoy who i rapping not a black person.
