well they tried too..hehe

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysia#Etymology

QUOTE
The name Malaysia was adopted in 1963 when the Federation of Malaya, Singapore, North Borneo and Sarawak formed a 14-state federation.[13] However the name itself had been vaguely used to refer to areas in Southeast Asia prior to that. A map published in 1914 in Chicago has the word Malaysia printed on it referring to certain territories within the Malay Archipelago. Politicians in the Philippines once contemplated naming their state "Malaysia", but in 1963 Malaysia adopted the name first.

i think Filipino sounds more unique, one of the few nationalities in the English language that doesn't end with a -an -ish -ese -i -er

but then we're named after that bastard Felipe embarassedlaugh.gif

wtf communists happen to be catholics but they will try to nationalize church property 100 %. NPAs are just a bunch of bandits who blow up telco towers and extort "taxes" from those they are "protecting"

NPA's are not terrorists. It's the Philippine Military who's terrorizing the civilians.

Mas mabuti pang sabihin natin na may mga Pilipino police na Katoliko.

Of late, i would have to agree with you. There is lawlessness within the ranks now. There WAS (as in past tenths) order and good marale in the early years of Marcos rule which all started falling apart in the latter years to what it is now. Marcos had them in line, cleared up and made example of soldiers when they went rogue or did bad things to society.

NPA's are terrorists?? undoubtly YES, when your armed and going up against your own countries military and police and inprint fear to society? what do you call that then?
Mephisto
^NPA is listed as Terrorist Organization by the Philippines, the US and the EU..

they resort to assassinations, kidnappings, extortion and revolutionary taxes for their finances -- they spread terror to civilians who refuse to cooperate / finance their supposed ideology... bombing/burning of business facilities, etc..
martin_nuke
I've been terrorized by NPAs many times already sometimes they ask money (Revolutionary Tax) from you and if you don't give them, they will hurt you so bad. A long time ago we were setting up a cellsite in nueva ecija and the NPAs hijacked the cellsite demanding for money and threatened to bomb the cellsite if we do not give them money so we have to negotiate with them and give them what they wanted.
