India should engage with the US, Russia, China, France and UK to settle the following pending issues with these major powers

1. They want India to sign the NPT.

2. They want India to sign the CTBT.

3. They want India (and China of course) to sign the Climate agreement

4. They want (less urgent since the economic recession) India to sign the WTO.

1. India wants a permanent veto-wielding seat in the UNSC.

2. India doesn't mind signing the NPT but as a nuclear state

3. India is wary of the CTBT but might sign it if offered testing simulation technology (like was offered to China and France)
