This is a French's Map sometime in the late period of the Trinh-Nguyen War or the Tay Son Rebellion. Pre-Nguyen dynasty as you can see that the Royal court of Champa is occupying a very small plot of territory south of Nguyen Lord control which is in Red. At sometime this time, Saigon was founded by Nguyen Huu Canh (look at the area around modern day saigon).
