The simplest option would be:

If you're already using Firefox as your browser, then all you have to do is install the Video DownloadHelper; this "addon" will enable you to download those flash videos and mp4s from youtube and similar sites.

Otherwise, download, install and use Firefox as your browser, and then install that "Video DownloadHelper" addon.

Then finally, you'd also have to download and install some flashvideo (flv) player, or even better a complete media player and codec pack, such as XP Codec Pack. This is what would allow you to play different types of videos on your PC.

if there's some high quality audio you want to convert to mp3, then afterwards, upload the downloaded FLV file to a site like www.flv2mp3.com

Once you installed it, you'll start seeing a link on every youtube video, which will allow you to download the Video as a mp4 file.

i have a software, which not only can you rip off video from youtube but pretty much every streaming video site! and it can converts streaming video extension (.flv) into any video format you want (.avi, mpeg, mp4, mv, etc..)

give me a call if you need.. because my friends hook me up with it.. and need serial code but we have it. kinds of illegal.. don't call the cop.

simple just use Internet download manager, it will allow to download flv video from any video hosting site including you tube

yes, I use firefox to download YouTube video. It's quite easy and fun until I found that .flv doesn't support by many of my mobile phone, iPod and so on.
If you have ever run into this problem, I would like to recommend to sothink free video converter. It works well to convert FLV to any desired formats.
