i also heard that in chinese culture whcih i am chinese but born n raised here. that in the chinese culture we generally nobody helps nobody. be it networking for job, or giving the guy a job lead or better someone since in chinese way of thinking they see it as competition. chinese will help family but not friends since they see it as bettering someone and wont do it.
while white ppl will help if they like you since they are more open to it. --------is this true
considering 90% of the jobs are through networking since thats what i heard from my job search clubs . i need to networking more than applying for job on the internet or paper. even the guys i met off job search, and church said all this jobs he got was through friends and contacts he knew and not that net. applied through the net for so long and got no responeses
i just want to know if its true in the chinese culture since im chinese and my church is chinese. thinking of going and joining another church since the one i go to is too small and not enough ppl.

I am not sure what is ur question, getting a job through internet or chinese wont help friends to get a job. I am born & work in china. In china, finding job through internet is not a really good way. but friend will help each other. snice i got my current from my ex-colleague. And you got to ask your friend around. i think ppl just ppl, they r the same everywhere.

I'm not sure if it is exclusive, but being chinese i do notice that 'the need to achieve' value is dominant in most, and the ugly side of it is it make us very selfish.
Networking for jobs works very well from my experience, but it requires a fair bit of work and skill. It is prospecting for contacts, and direct selling, and the merchandise:yourself.

Not true.
They will help/be nicer to you IF they see you as a possible addition to their family network.
If they see you as a possible match for their sister/brother, son/daughter, niece/nephew, they will definitely treat you better.
