It looks pretty good for another asian Tom Cruise movie lol For some reason I get the distinct feeling that he is like me and obsessed with asian culture thus the reason for his company bringing asian movies to america such as the ring and of course starring in a movie like this... however we have yet to see if little things are underlooked like kill bill and the whole kung fu with a samurai sword thing lol

I do have a great deal of respect towards the movie, but I better not see a single wapanese when I go to the movies, seeing The Last Samurai.

It's bout a i think a White LT. or Col. that falls in da hands of a Samurai Master.
He studies da white dude(aka tom cruise0 and teach him how to use a Japanese katana. Tom i think later fight along side da Japanese cuz he also falls 4 this Japanese gurl. i think she in da movie is related to da samurai master. i dun really know. i just saw a preview of it while watching da Matrix Revolutions.

edit- also i think it comes out Dec. 5th in da US

I might see it, I might now. I don't think it's gonna be that great a movie, b/c they're dragging white guys where they don't belong. (That's not meant to be insulting.. I doubt that anybody else other than Japanese would be in Japan when samurais are still a thing that most men do. It's the whole period thing.)

I guess it would depend on what other ppl think of it.

Very good movie. Ending was kind of cheesy but all in all this movie is worth the $10.

AHGHGHGH I just saw it last night! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! IT'S MY NEW FAVORITE MOVIE!!! and it definitely was nothing like what the earlier posts said it would be. a white guy in asian culture. WOW. tom cruise was awesome. Unfortunately though, this movie makes me detest those Japanese people who killed the samuri and such. WOW the samuri people are my HEROES now. Well the good ones anyways. Like the ones in the movie. And I want to learn sword fighting. WOW i'm a loser.

Its a good movie as in visually and the cinematography wise. Music is good. I like it BUT its all too typical and stereotypical samurai movie. (White man hero, likes asian girl, better in skills than the people who taught him, lives at the end, etc...) bleh!

awww. but the real hero is katsumoto, the last real samurai. well that's my interpretation anyways....read thread in .... debate about last white samurai...hehe

If you thought "The Last Samurai", you might want to check out "Twilight Samurai" and "When the Last Sword is Drawn". Both came out around the same time "The Last Samurai" came out, but it's the Japanese (hence, more accurate) version of the events. Most movie sites consider them better too.
