Discover Ya Chang

Many of us have heard of Filipino stars who make an impression in foreign lands. Even more often, we hear of Filipino stars who make extra money as entertainers in Japanese hotspots. But it’s rare that we hear of Japanese stars who make their mark in the Philippines. And yet, one did--and this Thursday, we get to hear his story, as Maalaala Mo Kaya features the story of Magandang Tanghali, Bayan’s scene-stealing comedian Ya Chang this Thursday, November 11 right after ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.

What happens when you move to a new country for love – only to find a whole new career for yourself? One young Japanese national did just that, and now, up-and-coming comedian Ya Chang reveals the entire story behind his exceptional journey in this equally impressive episode, directed by Malu Sevilla and written by Maribel Ilag.

The action moves from Japan to Manila as we follow Ya Chang’s unpredictable life in this episode. From a very young age, Ya Chang had already proven himself to be an intelligent and astute businessman, but what happens when his heart tells him to move to Manila in order to pursue a crush? And how does he react when it brings him to a completely unexpected career as one of the brightest up-and-coming comedians in his newly-adopted homeland – with one of the highest-rating segments in Magandang Tanghali, Bayan, to boot?

Tune in to the story of Ya Chang’s life in showbiz this Thursday, November 11 on Maalaala Mo Kaya.

I think he got Filipino friends on the Japan, he saw and had a crush on 1 of the Sexbomb girl dancer on GMA (that do shows in Japan), so he ask his Fil. friend, went to Phil. to check out the girl, he then befriends with Ai ai and Allan K, audition as comedian and then got popular because Filipino like foreign faces (ie Dayanara, Michelle Van Eimerren, Sandara, etc).

Coming from a good country, he seems to like Phil. which is a poor country.

PS. Who was that good martial art Japanese actress who had few movies together with Phil actors? It was like 1980/90s I think.
phichanad
i think it was Cynthia Luster, a Japanese-Chinese celebrity from Hong Kong...i remember she was one of the villains in Bioman...
