I know i'm a bit behind with movies but damn i just got done watching an awesome movie about the Mongols, The Blue Wolf.

Tightass movie though, and i wonder... did the Mongols attacked the Manchu (Jin) before China? I was confused. Too many tribes left and right.

I would love to watch more movies on Mongolians. Any recommendations?
thehorsemen
I know nothing about the movie, but the wrestler blue wolf is fu-king awesome. Lol

Yes.

Isn't it wierd? A movie on Mongolian people but the spoken language is Japanese. It's just like a movie on Japanese but the spoken language is Mandarin. hahha

I want to hear how the Mongolian sounds. I think it would make the movie a bit better with added "authenticity" of culture (language/emotions) to the actors in a sense.
thehorsemen
That would make me throw my pens onto the table in anger.

Perhaps you can watch the movie "Mongol" by Sergei Bodrov. It's in Mongolian. Though the story is not up to the expectation, still it's worth to watch.

the movie mongol made me want to say "Everyone who's a fan of this movie, leave the room, right now." then once they're gone, start ranting and raving angrily.

why is that? is it a good movie?
thehorsemen
It was innaccurate as hell. I'm not going to get into it all, but I guarantee, I would be doing this kind of rant, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOqlH4YZBkM if you all were watching it here with me.

Mr Hitmonxiong, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Fffa2cgKg

The Mongol movie is inaccurate especially the part when his wife Borte went to Tangut Kingdom to rescue him.

As for Mr Horsemen, my apology.
hitmonxiong
Horsemen
^ LOL! Nice one.

I guess i won't be watching it then. Any other suggestions? Guys?

So its' based on an actual historical account? I don't know anything about Mongol or their history so i have no comment regarding the accuracy

in the movie.

But i think it looks interesting...
thehorsemen
Only positive, it doesn't make us out to be the bad guys, but that wasn't enough for me. lol.

As far as I know, most Mongols resent the movies including my Khalkh Mongol father and mother in-laws. However, you can watch and decide for yourself.

There's another movie produced by the Sakha-Mongol Republic in Russia, check this out:

I heard that this one is much better and more accurate. It's damned hard to find this one and even not available in Mongolia. If you can find one, pm me.
thehorsemen
If I remember right, subo, myself, hated it, forget the other opinions we had here. embarassedlaugh.gif.

You don't seem to like any of those Mongol movies. dntknw.gif

thehorsemen
You would be correct, I'm a bit strict on them. lol
charizardpal
Well then can any one recommend any good Mongol movies, with native actors not speaking Japanese, Mandarin, or even English?
thehorsemen
Can you even speak the language?

Whoa, was this really made in Yakutia? Out of curiosity, would it be released in Buryatia as well? O_O

I guess it will be available in Russia. But I wonder why it's not available in Mongolia. I am looking for the movie as well.

really? i thought he was Mongol. lol

I know Mongols are not homogenous in looks due to the varies tribes of both mongoliod and turkish in their ancestry; the question is, is this an issue (racism) in

the republic of Mongolia, if any at all?

I thought most of the actors in that movie looked pretty "mongolian" if there's even a look. beerchug.gif
thehorsemen
There usually is some tribal rivalry but nothing much of any significance we'd rather hate foreigners.
