Right after the show, dinadalaw daw minsan ni Ya Chang si Jopay sa Broadway Centrum sa Aurora Blvd.

Ya Chang may not be a crooner like Martin Nievera or Gary V but his rather unique talent can totally bring the house down, and has consequently garnered him a huge fan base nationwide. With his toothy grin, comical accent and funky 'do coupled with an uncanny sense of humor, Ya Chang never fails to make all of us laugh each time he appears on TV as a regular on MTB.
No one could have predicted that fame and fortune would come Ya Chang's way. Just a regular joe in his native Japan, a career in showbusiness was never in his plans. It was a crush (that has already blossomed into love according to Ya Chang) that brought him to the Philippines. His great desire to meet Jopay (member of a famous all-female group) led him to pack his bags and fly to Manila in order to meet her. As soon as he got to the Philippines, he sought Jopay out. He religiously hung out every single day in the set of the noontime show where she works, trying to sneak a peek of his ladylove. Eventually, Allan K, one of the hosts noticed him and brought him to Klownz, where he was introduced to part owner Ms. Ai Ai De Las Alas. She then brought him to ABS-CBN and told him to audition for Masayang Tanghaling Bayan. And so he did. The rest, as they say, is history.
Now, Ya Chang is going places -- being offered roles in sitcoms and movies, and even getting a record deal!
Ya Chang's debut album entitled Dai 'Jo Bu (roughly meaning in Tagalog, "Okay 'to!") is now released under Star Records. It contains six novelty ditties that will surely make you sing, dance and laugh all at the same time. Produced by Christian Martinez, and containing collaborations with Lito Camo, this album is the ultimate sound trip!
His first single off the album is the highly infectious "Anone". Already enjoying maximum airplay on radio stations nationwide, "Anone" is surely the next dance phenomenon to hit the country by storm.
Other tracks in the album include the upbeat and highly danceable ditties "Sayaw Ya Chang", "Daijobu" and "Rico Mambo", as well as the love song "Aishteru, I Love You" and the break-up song "Pesteng Pag-ibig".
The hardest challenge right now to all his newfound fame is continuing to live his life as a regular joe. His life has indeed haven't been the same since. He can't just loiter around public places anymore since he gets recognized easily. His schedule is so packed, he doesn't have much time for himself. But Ya Chang is having the time of his life. He added that the ridicule that comes with his popularity doesn't bother him. "Alam ko na you can't please everybody.
With his success, Ya Chang proves that to be a star, you don't need to have drop dead good looks and a powerful belting voice. Sometimes all it takes is guts, charm and just being yourself.
Dai 'Jo Bu is now available on CDs at record stores nationwide, released by Star Records. Get only the original. Dai 'Jo Bu -- "Okay 'to!".
