SARAH Geronimo has added another feather to her cap.

People Asia magazine has included the Teen Princess in its "People of the Year" list for the fifth anniversary issue that will be launched during a special party at the Manila Peninsula on Dec. 13.

The list includes such political heavyweights as President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, US President George W. Bush, Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte; and business leaders like Ben Chan, Lucio Tan and Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco.

In the show biz category, Sarah's right up there with Lea Salonga, Kris Aquino and Jasmine Trias.

As expected, Sarah is thrilled. "I can't believe it," she says. "It's such a big honor."

On account of her accomplishments alone, Sarah deserves to be in that list.

Only 16, she is a compleat entertainer. She has a quadruple platinum album.

She starred in sold-out concerts and a TV series, and done a slew of endorsements.

She recently embarked on a new endeavor, hosting
Print this story ABS-CBN's "Morning Star" together with the gang from the hit concert, "Night of the Champions"-Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos and Mark Bautista.

But success has simply not gotten to her head. "I'm still the old Sarah," she says.

At the same time, she has fully adjusted to her stature in local entertainment.

Incredulous

"Sometimes I'm still overwhelmed," she says. "I say to myself, is this really happening?"

Sarah was catapulted to fame after winning in this year's "Star for a Night," the talent search launched by Viva TV. Her winning song, "To Love You More," became an instant hit. Her single, "Forever's Not Enough," was also a chart buster. Her first album, "Popstar, A Dream Come True," became a platinum four times over.

Her second album, "Sweet Sixteen" is now out in the market. She is also finishing the filming of "Lastikman," Viva Films' entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival this month.

Still, she finds time for her studies. Her mother, Divine Geronimo, never fails to remind her of the importance of schooling. Sarah is enrolled in Angelicum College's home study program. "One thing's sure," Divine says. "She doesn't lag behind regular students."

Oh! What you say?

Merry Christmas huh? embarassedlaugh.gif

What idiot put down Jasmine's name in this list. Jasmine is nothing compared to Sarah.
