off topic..

man, china and india should distribute their population around the world. they're the two most populous nations in the world. they should each send at least have of their population to the less populated countries like australia, canada, russia(pretty big country),the state of alaska,etc... good thing about it is, both india and china would still end up having the largest pop. in the world. they'll still end up with around 400-500 million people.

America is pretty under-populated, too
don't go rushing immigrants to Canada; we have enough AMERICANS trying to get in, now that Bush won his second term

yeah..america is pretty under populated also but it's NOT that low. australia only has what? 19 million people? canada only has 32 million? both of these countries are huge also. russia only has 140 million with despite being the largest country in the world.. send a couple hundreds of millions of chinese to russia and they'll have to adopt to the harsh winter climate. soon they'll become eskimos.. send a couple hundred millions of indians to australia and the desert will no longer be deserted. send a couple more hundreds of millions of chinese and indians to canada and there will be more snow angels in canada.

I'm sure we won't mind if anyone wants to come live in the Canadian Shield. biggrin.gif
If they touch our minerals, that's another story, but there's LOTS of open land there for housing, and such.
Canada has just over 9 million km^2, and the shield takes up about 55% of that.

Canadian Shield:
This northerly region is the largest covering over half of Canada. The land is made of very old rock which has almost no soil. Lakes and forests are numerous.
Few people live in this area. This is because the climate is so harsh and there is little soil that makes agriculture almost impossible. Forestry and mining are the main industries. Things that are mined include: copper, nickel, lead, zinc, gold, iron, uranium and diamonds.

--EDIT--
snow angels?
I'm still waiting for *snow*

You seriously think they will have a technology to create new island? I think you've been watching too many animes. Plus they don't have enough resources to create a new island.

Finally, some reality check! beerchug.gif Esos pinche maricones la necesitan.

Anyways, going back to the topic, based from the hypothesis given, I think it's wise to ask questions first.

God forbid, should this be reality, how would it affect Japan-based multinational companies? Diplomatic relationships?

Yeah, I admit, these are extreme...

As we all know that Japan the island itself will sink in future. Then what will happen to the japanese citizens? Will they move into another country as a refugees?

Death. In one way or another. It is as simple as that.
