No, no, no

I don't look down on anime. I never wrote that, please don't assume. I do like it. Sorry if I wasn't clear, what I meant was that anime isn't Japanese in origin. It is a Japanese product of course with it's own characteristics and is different from Disney, but it started as being the Japanese version (if you will) of what Disney cartoons were waaaaaay back. Influenced by their own perceptions, culture and etc. it has evolved to what it is today. (I saw a documentary about this in Japan and I also read news interviews in English about this......so I'm not making it up.)

okay
but, then, do you think that Honda, Toyota, Matsuda, etc. are not Japanese, as they copied American automobiles?
if something is made on a regular basis in a given country, then to me, it belongs to that country, regardless of where the idea came from
I wasn't sure if maybe you were one of the many people who hate when white people only know Japan for their anime
I didn't mean any offence

If you noticed, I did put in that I was trying to defend Japan (doesn't mean that I'm blind about other aspects of Japan), and am proud of Japan in many ways, so in no way do I look down upon Japan or things considered Japanese.
I saw that part. But I wasn't sure if you were talking about the origins of anime, or if you were trying to discredit anime in general, or just one specific style of anime.
My misunderstanding.

Maybe I should've know better than to post in this thread? oh well.
In no way am I an expert on all things related to Japan, but just wanted to point out that not all stereotypes about Japan/Japanese people are true. I didn't mean to offend anyone.
Don't worry about offending me.
And, I don't mean to discourage you from posting.
I was just unsure where that comment came from (which of the reasons I listed above).
Have a good day!

(I think faster than I type, so sometime's things I post sound more abrasive than I mean them to
