I just had some for the first time. Their flaky like a croissant yet chewy like mochi. Man I got to learn to make some.

There is another type that is more similar to mochi, in fact it's basically the same but it has scallions in it...

White, shaped something like a small frisbee if I remember correctly..

Yes. Exactly. you can see the faint swirls in the pancake.

I like to dip them in banana sauce or curry.

You can get them in Chinese supermarkets in the frozen food section.

They are already cooked. You just have to reheat them.

Yeah. I just got a pack of 5 for $1.50 at the 99ranch market. They cook up in a pan in 3 minutes. Man, the worlds got to discover this thing!

I love the korean version - just add kimchi to the batter with the scallions.

Hmmm, I may get cooking when I get home form work..... sounds so good right now!

I think traditional Chinese Scallion Pancakes is from Shanghai. I ate it and drink soya milk many years ago. It tastes good.
