Is there a way to embed Youtube videos here? Anyway this is a pretty cool Thai-Vietnam co-production drama. Vietnam rarely ever works with other nations in its relatively new and small entertainment industry. Here's the information from the video:

"This is from the first ever Vietnamese and Thai co-production drama, "Tinh Xa" (Distant Love). The drama is in both Thai and Vietnamese and is about a girl who travels from Vietnam to Thailand to train in dance.
This is one snippet from drama towards the end but basically, the Vietnamese girl and the Thai man have decided not to see each other anymore and this is his engagement party with his fiance. Unknowing to her, she is randomly hired to be a traditional Thai dancer at the party. I'm Vietnamese but I love all things Thai and SE Asian. What do you Thai people think of actress Ha Thi Thu Huong? She's beautiful and appears to have done a great job. She looks GREAT in that Thai outfit! We're not so different despite what some say."

I think she will be surprised to know that thai people can't dance lol The skill of Thai people (including dancers) are 30 years behind the rest of the world. 50 years behind the likes of S.Korea, Japan and the USA.

but then it is about traditional dance 555. Strange how we are good at that but modern dance is so...umm.$hite biggrin.gif

Did she want to be a coyote dancer? those women can't dance either lol they just...wiggle o.O

1st video = wtf....thats dancing? well technicaly yes... but no that doesnt get me thinking "damn these guys can dance!" plus they are using outdated style which the rest of the world stopped using years back lol

2nd video. The guy has good flow but his popping sucked. And wow, still using the air hump im a MV as a choreographed dance step roflmao but not his fault though. I can tell the whole routine was heavily choreographed but not by him icon_smile.gif

If thats the best we got then damn lol well, at least its better than the usual punani frisbie we see everywhere from Thai girls and the usual standing o nthe ground from the guys lol
Juejue
Is this some sort of Thai porno drama by making fun of Vietnamese women as a prostitute in Thailand?

Please don't get me wrong. I love porno drama myself indeed. icon_smile.gif)

no doubt it is growing and becoming better but in terms of dance ie street dance or even pop dance choreography it is still lacking o.O even stars and dancers use outdated dance moves.

Another good thread got turned into prostitute talk. *sigh*
Misfit
The prostitute joke wasn't even remotely funny due to it NOT being based on anything true. Out of all mainland SE Asia, Vietnam has the fewest prostitutes and sex slaves. It's actually illegal in Vietnam (prostitution) and its tourism economy doesn't depend on sex visits. Cambodia, Laos and Thailand on the other hand NEEDS sex tourists (Lao girls going to Thailand).

It's illegal in Laos, thailand and Cambodia as well. Did you know?

There are 70,000 prostitutes in Vietnam - an old figure that seems far too low given the increasing number of new karaoke bars, massage parlors and discos known for prostitution. (government statistics Keith B. Richburg, "The Go-Go Dancers Haven't Gone," The Washington Post, 15 September 1997)

5% of prostitutes in Vietnam are children, which means that 20,000 children are in prostitution in Vietnam. This rose from 11% in 1991. (Christian Science Monitor, 21 May 1997)

Hotel massage parlors offer special massages, by the females, who earn only tips as they are controlled by the Momma-san. A massage costs $100 per service, but the price goes down as the night goes on. (Keith B. Richburg, "The Go-Go Dancers Haven't Gone," The Washington Post, 15 September 1997)

lol oh really? Im pretty sure these poor girls come mainly from the Issan region of Thailand and are Laos ethnics that came from Laos to escape the communist regime. There are also hundreds of Thousands of Lao women trafficked into the country as prostitutes (by Laos traffickers) theres also hundreds of Thousands of Laos women who voluntarily work as prostitutes to feed their families back in Laos.

Sure there are Thai prostitutes as well. But there are fu-k LOADS of Laos prostitutes in thailand.

So right back at you sonny. Don't be so NAIVE and ignorant. And as a gesture of good will.... go to school.

The proper term for Chinese people used by Thai and Lao people is 'Jeen'! 'Jek' is insulting.

I still don't get why a person who is not fluent or fully understands the implications of the thai language trying to tell a thai person what a Thai word means. Are seruiously that dense?

Jeen is the normal word for shinese person

Jek is derogatory. Or is it because you don't know what derogatory means? Ok let me explain. Its an insulting way of saying Chinese. get it?

Like

negro = black person

Nigga = derogatory word for a black person.

I'm sure Thai language is similar to Lao language. Its funny for a Thai not knowing the actual differences btw Jeen and Jek. Jeen is the same as saying Jin and Jek are the actual Chinese ethnic Han.
