It has been a rather gloomy 2010 for Malaysia - and this was a very nice way to end the year. CONGRATULATIONS MALAYSIA, for a wonderful showing in the AFF Suzuki Cup overall and making a mark in the country's history by winning the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 Finals at an aggregate of 4-2 over Indonesia. It has been a tough climb, but we got there - and we deserve it. And there is every reason for Malaysians to revel in the victory as the PM has declared Friday, the 31st of December a public holiday in light of this winning. beerchug.gif

On the other hand, thank you Indonesia for the great game and congratulations for defeating us 2-1 in the second leg of the finals. Even if that wasn't enough to score the trophy, may this lift Indonesian football to an even higher level.

Congratulation Malaysia team for winning this cup.
You really made an amazing progress since we defeat you in Jakarta.
Yes, I'm Indonesian in Jakarta and I'm disappointed we didn't win, but I'm glad we showed our fighting spirit in the end and all went well with our fans.
Your strikers gave us a really hard time.
And I really can't speak for all Indonesians, but I'm sorry if we offended you regarding lasers and all in this competition.

Selamat ya! Semoga makin maju juga sepakbola Malaysia!
Terima kasih.. beerchug.gif

Hail the King of South East Asia football!! bowdown.gif

SEA Games champion of 2009
AFF Cup winner of 2010
Qualified to 2nd round of Asia Games 2010 after so many years

And best of all they are a junior team!! We lost the first 11 key players due to injury and still managed to come out strong. This new breed of young players is really something to be proud of. Rajagobal is a legend.

But I must say Indonesia team played really well last night. Their fighting spirit was admirable. My heart was thumping like hell it's just hard to watch lol. They kept surging with attacks one after another, it was fortunate that we have an awesome goalkeeper in Khairul Fahmi. He was simply amazing, without him we would have conceded at least 4 goals last night. Keep an eye out for this guy, he's only 21 years old and I expect great things to come from him in the future. Malaysia's first goal is a thing of beauty. Accurate pass with clinical finish by Safee. Amazing.

Thank you for boys for giving us a great year-end close and the public holiday tomorrow. lol biggthumpup.gif

Hello there ponera! Terima kasih atas ucapan anda! Selamat datang ke AsiaFinest, and looking forward to seeing more of your posts around. beerchug.gif

I definitely think Indonesia deserves it 2-1 victory over Malaysia during the 2nd final leg in Gelora, after a poor showing in Bukit Jalil it was a good effort, although unfortunately not enough to obtain the Suzuki Cup. But that's alright, Indonesia still has the chance to prove itself in the next AFF, while Malaysia has the pressure to retain its dignity as defending champions. icon_smile.gif

Ah, about the laser thing, thank you so much for your apology - it is very thoughtful of you. Indeed I do not get all the furore over the laser thing, even our goalkeepers got the lasered so what's the fuss about? But I'm glad to say Malaysian media does not make such a big deal out of it. All is forgiven though, let bygones be bygones - what is sure is that both our teams deserve whatever goals they've made and it's by their own merit that they scored, and not because of the lasers. beerchug.gif

Our junior team is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Even Ferdinand agrees! beerchug.gif

And yes, Rajagobal is the man... with such insight I'm hoping for many more things in store for the Malaysian team.

Oh, the country sure was happy as mad when they won! After 14 years of waiting, the victory was one of the sweetest moments of 2010. : )

I really was so frustrated I couldn't watch the game. As usual I was at work. Work work work. But I got to hear patients and patients relatives who were in the waiting room cheering when the game was on and it was quite funny that it almost felt like they came to the hospital to wnjoy watching the big screen we put up for them to calm them while waiting for their turn. Instead it turned out to be quite a fun party hehe beerchug.gif

Thanks for the welcome. I just think its not the best thing to do, blaming the other side for our defeat for the sake of nationalism.

It wasn't just media, it was all over twitter. Even no I noticed popular topic there still reflects this 'adversity'. Shameful..

Anyways.. SEA Games is coming. Look forward to see each team's progress...

There is nothing great about being a world cup host.
