Hi Guys,

For all you guys living in indonesia please be careful when you are hanging out in jakarta or in places where alot of foreign people are around christmas time.

There has just been a travel warning in australia telling all australians not to go to indonesia for non essential travel. I remember the Australian embassy icon_sad.gif it was only indonesians that died bawling.gif because of other stupid indonesians.

Please be careful OK. I want to see everyone posting in 2005 !

and for the guys that celebrate ..... wishing you an early Merry christmas icon_smile.gif

Merry Christmas! r u goin anywhere this yuletide?

about the travel warning, Australian DFAT always issue these warnings every Christmas, Easter, Ramadhan, 17 August, etc every year. This latest warning is nothing unexpected, so its kinda hv no impact here in indonesia. Thank for the concern, though.. Myself, im going to a mountain-top Catholic monastery in Puncak area for Christmas nite..

Merry Christmas,

Question, do Catholics in Indonesia also do the Misa de Galo?

QUOTE
MISA DE GALLO
Nationwide

Misa de Gallo is a Filipino yuletide tradition that starts on the 16th of December and culminates in a midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Roman Catholics attend the daily mass at three or four in the morning. Upon exiting the church, the hungry is enticed by the sight and smell of puto bumbong and bibingka (native delicacies made of sticky and glutinous rice sold nearby).

He's not Catholic, he's iglesssia christos or something. Sorry forgot the exact name. And FYI Catholics are christian. And yes Catholics do celebrate Christmas.
As you can see we go to mass in the middle of the night during Christmas Eve.

^ It's the first time I heard about "iglesssia christos".
I even heard about zoroaster, achmadyah, bahai. Never heard about iglesssia christos.
Is this religion practiced by philipino or it is somthing he got it bcoz he is living in US if i am not mistaken.

LOL I think its ignatio, instead of iglessi, its like an Christian denomination. Its practiced worldwide and some in the Philippines. The Philippines is 90% Christian and like 80% Catholic.

Tagalog Christmas Songs

Tagalog Christmas songs
basically reflect the joyful spirit
of Christmas in the Philippines.
There are, however, some
songs that reflect the loneliness
of the season especially for
those whose love ones are
far away or who have been
separated.

1. Pasko Na Naman
2. Pasko Na Sinta Ko
3. Kay Sigla ng Gabi
4. Sino si Santa Klaus?

Pasko Na Naman

Hanap-hanap kita
Bakit nagtatampo't
Nilisan ako

Kung mawawala ka,
Sa piling ko sinta,
Paano ang Pasko
Inulila mo?

Sayang sinta,
Ang sinumpaan
At pagtitinginan tunay.
Nais mo bang kalimutang ganap

magyu
you could as well add the translation so that i can understand too biggrin.gif

Please pardon my crappy indo icon_confused.gif :

kemaren malam aku ketemu sama sodara yang kerjanya di parliment australi.

Dia salasatu ambassador indonesia.

Anyway thats the story, i guess it was a bit of a shambles and that this travel warning was released abit early but it simply goes to show how STRONG of an impact the media can have on this situation.

Although I'm not a Christian nor Catholic but I do know some XMas songs

Selamat Hari Natal, Selamat hari Natal, Selamat hari Natal dan Tahun Baru!
We wish u a merry christmas, We wish u a merry christmas, We wish u a merry christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Malam Kudus, Sunyi Senyap ------ Silent Night, Holy Night. Actually it means holy night, silent night but it's the song.

So again, what make the Aussie always release travel warning to Indonesia? in every year and if there is every big moment in Indonesia?
Is this related to Insurance purposes (want to deny the claim if something happened) or they want to keep thier money circulated within Austarlie bcoz a lot Aussie visit Indonesia every year.
Kanlungan
Aussies are quite paranoid , Nusantra. They always think that indonesia and the Philippinea re EXTREMELY dangerous places. LOL

That's what I thought. I guess also they want their citizen spend money within in their own country. So give travel warning it will deter people travel outside.
In other way the terorist have already achieve their purposes to give paranoid situation to Aussie.
Kanlungan
LOL. I wonder why "other countries" think it's EXTREMELY dangerous in SEAsia, when in fact the 9/11 attacks was ..uhm you know. You know what I mean. Why uplift travel warnings here when the 9/11 attacks was on heck of an attack. Discrimination? LOL.

I'm not sure, but I think no travel warning against the US was issues, but when the Phils and Indonesia were attacked, they instantly gave out travel warnings. Grr.

As far as I know Saint Fransiscus Xaverius was the first one introduced christianity to indo. My baptist name is Fransisca, taken from St. Fransiscus Xaverius.

Feliz Navidad is good, but I like this song the most but I forgot the title..."Bona voluntatis..bona voluntatis...et intera pax...Gloria, gloria..et intera pax hominibus hox verbum quam vantum et.." yeah something like that. Gosh, I'm the choir girl and was supposed to sing this song last xmas but I forgot the title!! sure.gif

I think St. Fransiscus Xaverius is portuguese (I must re-open my history book biggrin.gif )
