“Krung krung, Sandara Soh, Mahal ko kayo, HeroSan, April, Walang Sabit, In or Out” -are just some of the words that are come to mind whenever the name Sandara Park is mentioned. And recently another monicker has been added to this list – KIM.
She is everywhere, on television, on radio, on ads, just a few weeks back she was seen on the big screen in the trilogy movie of Star Cinema, Bcuz of You. And just last Thursday, Sandara entered a new phase in her promising career as she made her debut appearance as Kim in the superserye, Krystala.
Kim is Miguel’s half sister from Korea, she’s very cheerful and enthusiastic. She loves her siblings and longs for a love of her own. She wants a Filipino boyfriend because her mother told her that Filipinos are very carinoso. But she will not settle for anything less than someone who when she meets will have the “spark”. Later on she will also be an instrument in helping Loverboy remember who he is. She will show him how it is to live in the present world and how it is to be human and feel. When will they meet? Will they fall in love? We’ll find out soon enough as we continue to watch Krystala every week nights before Lovers in Paris.
We got to sit down and chat with Sandara for a few minutes. Read as she tells us a little bit about her role as Kim.
Anne: Sandara tell us about Kim
Sandara: Kim is half sister of Ryan Agoncillo and then she’s from Korea. Her mom is Filipina and her dad is Korean. She’s very cheerful, friendly, I think she’s a happy girl.
A: How is Kim similar to Sandara Park?
S: We’re both Korean. I think only that. Because Kim is very friendly and she can be friends with anyone but in real life I am the shy type.
A: Do you have powers here?
S: No.
A: But when you were a kid did you ever want to have superpowers?
S: Yeah of course. I want to fly and then I want have a magic stick so that I can do anything I want to do.
A: Like a magic wand?
S: Or like genie in a bottle. Or a fairy godmother
A: How do you prepare for this role?
S: Actually I don’t have time to prepare because I just get the script on the day itself, so I just do what the director asked me to do.
A: Do you like playing Kim?
S: Yes because it’s not that hard and it’s fun.
A: Which of the characters did you like playing more? Sandara Soh, April or Kim?
S: I like them all but there’s no big difference. But April is very special to me. Because it was a comedy and I also showed them dramatic crying scenes.
A: What would you like to tell the viewers of Krystala?
S: I hope they will watch it. I will be just like Sandara in Reload but my hair is curly. And I want to show them a different Sandara here so I try my best here.
