Dolphy`s grandson killed

A 15-year old grandson of comedy king Dolphy was reportedly shot and killed in Quezon City early Saturday morning.


According to a report by DZMM's Rod Izon, the victim was identified as Jelome Carlo Quizon, a son of Edgar Quizon.


Izon said that according to security guard Noel Lino of the Chinese Medical Center in Manila, Jelome Carlo was rushed to the said hospital at around 5:20 a.m. Saturday, along with two of his companions who were also hurt in a shooting incident in a street in Bonifacio Drive in Quezon City. The news report was later confirmed by Vandolph, another son of Dolphy, Cristy Fermin in her afternoon radio program over at DZMM and by TV Patrol World.


Jelome was reportedly declared dead at around 6:07 a.m. and sustained gunshot wounds to the body.


The two companions of Jerome Carlo were Angelo Abangan, 19, and Gener Balingit, 17. The two are also from Quezon City. Abangan was reportedly shot in the leg, while Balingit also suffered gunshot wounds.


Jelome Carlo and his two companions were reportedly walking along Bonifacio Drive in Quezon City at around 5 a.m. Saturday after attending a dawn mass

when they were fired upon by a group of teenagers onboard a tricycle. Jerome Carlo is now reportedly at St. Peter Funeral Homes in Quezon City.


TV Patrol World reported that Jelome and his companions earlier attended a birthday party before proceeding to the La Loma church.

POLICE have arrested two suspects in the killing of Jelom Carlo Quizon,
grandson of comedy king Dolphy.

The suspects: Jerome Flores, 23, and Alger Magdaraog, 21, however, denied
allegations that they were among the young men who shot Quizon Saturday.

Quizon, 14, died of a gunshot wound in the abdomen after assailants on a
tricycle opened fire at him and his two friends in Barangay La Loma at
about 5:30 a.m.

His two friends were wounded in the incident but have been reportedly
declared out of danger.

Members of the Central Police District (CPD) Station 1 in La Loma arrested
Flores Saturday afternoon in Caloocan City after a witness tagged him as
among the suspects.

Police later arrested Magdaraog when the latter went to the police station
to visit Flores.

CPD Director Nicasio Radovan told the Inquirer that a witness positively
identified the two as among the five suspects who attacked Quizon's
group.

Flores and Magdaraog admitted that they were members of the True Brown
Style group, a self-styled street gang in La Loma and Caloocan City.

Quizon, the two said, was a member of a rival group Temple Street Trece.

However, they denied they were among those who shot Quizon.

Flores said he was at home sleeping at the time of the attack because he
was drunk the night before.

Magdaraog said he did not know Quizon personally.

A day after the killing of Quizon, another teener was slain in a gang war
in Manila.

Randel Tanjeco of Batangas Line, San Andres Bukid, Manila, was shot after
his gang clashed with a rival group on Pedro Gil Street in Paco at 5:50 a.m.

Police said the two groups were first reported to have engaged in a
stone-throwing incident before someone fired a homemade shotgun.

Tanjeco was hit with three pellets in the chest and arm.

Both gangs had just attended a dawn mass at the Paco Catholic Church.

But he was a gang member, plain and simple. What do you expect? I don't think it's f#cKeD up. If you play around with gangs... you have to know what's coming to you.

I also believe "an eye for an eye", so kill the guy that killed Quizon, and injure the guys that injured his friends.

Joining a gang is just like having a death wish...

in philippines especially. even fraternities, just frats, gets so much people killed.

Honestly, why should he get some justice? He was a gang member. The only justice gang members see is retaliation. It will be killing after killing...

Of course I feel for his family... but I have no sympathy for gang members
