It will make more sense if angkor wat was built In 600bc not 11th century because if it was built in 11th century then how come know one remember how it was built?
It's impossible if you're an archeologist or a historian because it won’t fix the time period. During that time, India influenced were not that strong to the mainland of SEA, especially in turn of building construction and art. So how could the people of SEA(mainland) had the ability to build Angkor Wat. Plus, If Angkor Wat was built at that time it probably showed mostly Indian arts. Angkor Wat is completely new art. Moreover, at that time most temples in the mainland only used bricks to build their structures. Well Angkor Wat used stone blocks to build it, another technique that probably introduced until the late 7th or 8th century. And why no one knows much about Angkor Wat? maybe because of the religion changed and war with neighbors. Khmer kept lose a bit and a bit until everything was gone.
This is for example: the early Indian temple

Prasat Sambor Prei Kuk in Kampong Thom built in 7th century. The temple is most Indian art.

And here another fact. European discover angkor wat in 1600s when they found it It was cover in huge thick jungles. So they say angkor wat was adbandon in 1450 that only 100 year apart when the european find it in ruin.....so how can huge thick virgin jungle grow so fast in less then 1century? Is impossible! It take at least 5 century or more.....so therefore angkor must of been built and collapse. Ah very long time ago
When i studied Khmer history, it said that Angkor Wat was built with thick jungles surround it, to protect the temple against invaders. Not just only Angkor Wat but most of Khmer temples were built surround jungles or trees around it.
Have you even wonder why most huge khmer temples only found in the jungles? not in middle of rice filed since Angkor was a big city?

Here another example:

If you look at the picture, this used to be a small temple structure in middle and surround with a moat and some trees and compare to Angkor Wat, the largest khmer temple, with a huge moat. Im sure the plenty of water from the moat of Angkor Wat will make those trees growing faster and thicker.
