Heh, that's what my cousin thought of too, but when he went to Hmong New Year a few years back, he got in a middle of a fight in which he didn't know what was happening, so he got beat up.

You only get beat up, shot or stabbed if you're in a gang or hang around gang members. So, if someone doesn't want to get hurt they shouldn't be living that kind of lifestyle. But anyways, the gang violence here in Fresno is almost non-existant. When it does happens it's usually some out-of-town fawker.

Yeah, I don't really go to the Hmong New Years, but I went to the Chinese New Year thing they have in Chinatown. Less violent.

Seems like the Hmong gangs here only trip on you if you're a rival gang, or you're in a place THEY THINK you don't belong. Just don't even bother with it, don't make any gestures or eye contact. It's pointless.
