Anyone have any stories about experiences while riding on a jeepni or any other mode of public transportation in the PI? Personal stories or something you have heard from some one and you don’t mind sharing.

My friend told me a story about this one time his mom was riding a jeepni. They were stuck in traffic and the lady beside her was kind of leaning out the side because as some of you know it can get hot in that thing especially if it’s not moving along. Anyway she noticed the lady had a nice fat wedding ring on. I guess she wasn’t the only one because some guy walking along the side of the jeepni pulled out a pair of pliers and snapped the lady’s finger off along with the ring. eek.gif I don’t know what happened to the lady after that but I heard the guy just took off.

I am sure there must be all kinds of stories out there. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy like this, maybe you got a funny story to share or something risqué.
Ek-ek

flipcombatmedic
i like drivers in phils, they're crazy but they're good. like no direct traffic laws are followed but the number of accidents in my point of view are much less compared to use who have strict @$$ traffic laws. i guess it's all adaptation.

You know what I hear is common out there are people who slowly cut away at your bags and even the pockets of the jeans you are wearing until everything falls out.
flipcombatmedic
yup there's also snatchers who come and run away with your bag or your jewlery and swallow the jewlery to get rid of evidence and get it back later.
Kanlungan
And not to mention..holdaps..You know there are people who holdap every people in the Jeepney.

Yea, jeepney drivers are good pero pag humaharurot na sila sa daan as if they dont care for their passengers life... nakakainis. Pahirap rin sa taong-bayan ang ginagawa nilang patuloy na paghingi ng pagtaas ng pamasahe... samantalang 'pag nagkakaroon ng oil price rollback, wala naman rollback sa pamasahe. icon_rolleyes.gif

And let us accept the fact that most of the jeepney drivers really dont follow traffic rules which is the main cause of traffic jam.

embarassedlaugh.gif2 That is crazy.

The jeepney drivers don’t scare me much it’s the bus drivers that do. sure.gif The road is so narrow in the province and the bus is so huge but they still take off as if they are driving some kind of sports compact.

Yes of course. Unless you want to be my bodyguard icon_wink.gif

That happened maybe six years ago... i was working in Valenzuela and living in Manila... and i was color coding then, that's why i had to commute.

Be scared of truck drivers, too
redhotchili
When I was still in HS I wasn't used to commuting. I don't know how to ride the jeepney because I only rode in trikes and taxis.

There was this one time when I went malling with a gf and when it was already time for me to alight, I bid the manong driver good bye after saying para embarassedlaugh.gif2 Ridiculous. Embarassing. embarassedlaugh.gif2

First time mo? Joke... I couldn't image you saying "goodbye" to the driver. LOL embarassedlaugh.gif
redhotchili
OO! Actually it was my first time without a chaperon so it was hard/kind/weird for me.

Diyahe pa kasi sabi ko "Ma, para po" tapos sabi ko "Sige, bye bye". Like you know how we say good bye to our busmates? Ganun. embarassedlaugh.gif2

You must have felt guilty na natatawa na naiinis na parang gusto mong tumakbo. Am I right? Usually, ganun ang feeling kapag may nagawa tayong nakakatawa na nakakahiya.
