Yup Hot to me is based on pure looks. Overall attractiveness includes all that other mental/emotional qualities.

Curves??? A body which reflects a healthy female form has curves that are appealing.
In the days of Botticelli, women who were considered hot were a little more robust.
In sixties and seventies, the standard were more very skinny and slightly boyish
In today's world, people like to see real women who reflect more of the average woman's body

What do guy's mean when they say hot???
Whatever appeals to you ... some like beautiful face and ample breasts and hips that show good ability to have babies

seriously I have seen some guys point of view of "hot" and it is not that I would expect to look at it! I think a lot of guys have a lot of different taste in women and seriously some guys will think one girl is super hot while others will say she is alright...sigh or maybe the guys that say they are alright are all total liars !!

In terms of hot.. well i don't think i'd use that word unless i was heavily influenced by drink. So for example a victoria secret model.. can't think of any names off hand but i know one was quite nice looking. However it looked more like boobs on a stick. Which just looks stupid imo.

Without hitting on Jess here and without really seeing a full sized image. Her overall shape is what i would consider hot.

But it does come with a little math i suppose, face + bust - waist - hips + overall proportion. Added bonus is always personality. But if you're describing someone as hot, personality is the last thing on your mind.

Gorgeous, Sexy, Stunning are a few of the words i would prefer over hot.

Ya it is based on tastes but that is also based on what a person subconsciously knows what rating/hotness girl they can get. For instance, lets say men who are 4's in a 1-10 rating system learn that they can probably only get a girl with a hotness rating of 6 max. They learn this after years of going for 8-10's and getting shot down. So after awhile they will start thinking 6's are more like 8's and think theyre hott even though to everybody else they are just 6's.

I remember doing a psychology study on that! :p 10's oh my.

i've had a few 10's and of course it's opinion based. You have to be really lucky to get 11's. Thats just the 10's that you can stand and aren't socialites or intellectually challenged.

Well I'm a girl so I'll give my perspective. A hot girl's emphasis would be mostly face and attitude I think, as long as she isn't terrible elsewhere. Then body and style.
In my opinion, a 10 girl would be a cute, unique face (and not unique in a weird way, just not many people would look like her), I love Alexa Chung's face (so beautiful and here ;-)) statuesque-like body with all dimensions in proportion, does have curves (can't look like one of those boyish body types!), and a genuine, NATURAL attitude. Somebody who's not afraid to be a little bit different and just comfortable with their own style.



yikes this is too true. I know this guy who's a 2 or 3 and he worshipped his ex to the ground. She was around a 4 or 5 (I'm being nice here, guys have given her 0), and he was dead on believing she was a 10 and nobody could challenge his views otherwise.

I reckon it's all insecurity based. For what they can get, it makes them feel better if they believe they're much hotter than they really are. I'm not expecting to waltz through life and pick up 10s or 11s like picking up shopping but at least you know you're a realistic/non-blind person when you know the difference between a real 10 and a real 5! If I was a guy like him, it's like, well I'm a 2, nothing wrong with that, I make sure I'll have other attributes to make up for it and I can only get with a max of a 4, big deal. Acknowledge it! If I'm with an 8 for example I won't go around bragging that he's a 10. Sorry, people like that really get to me

Oh and I thought of something else pertaining to this. Fetishes! My white friend has yellow fever and all the girls that are 5's he thinks are cute just cuz theyre asian. Have him rate a white girl and his rating would pretty much be the same as mine.

Gosh I hate that. Don't those guys realise that their type is just the common Asian look? If they went to an Asian country, they'd realise by definition, looking like everybody else does not make you hot! Or maybe they'll just fancy the pants off every girl they see lol They definetely have erm..different standards to the rest of us. If a guy has an Asian fetish, I'll run a mile . For starters, I won't be his type anyway haha.. I guess they like extreme Asian features or whatever, Idk.

ps-I don't mean to offend anyone, I have met very nice Asian fetish guys, they just aren't for me.... I've just recently been slammed by some Asian fetish dude for apparently looking worse than this (what Asians would call a very plain/ugly) girl. It's his opinion, fine, but he wasn't very nice about it

it's a general fact that women overall put more emphasis on other things than the looks department, meaning you probably meant ugly + dumb guys

hmm couple of questions. So if a guy has an asian fetish, why wouldn't you exactly be his type? Since your going to avoid guys with asian fetishes are you going to just avoid white guys all together? I'm sure there are some that make it obvious they have a fetish while some wont show it.

Everyone has their tastes, dont feel too bad. You cant be attractive to all men. How exactly did he tell you if you dont mind me asking. Girls should be let down easy, they are sensitive creatures.



Perseverance and determination will make anybody try over and over again to get what they want. Doesn't necessarily mean they're dumb. Guys will want to get the girl of their dreams from puberty on. And its not like they will be openly pursuing girls at that age or dating that much so they wont really realize they can't get girls because they're ugly. In my opinion ugly guys will start to lower their standards at age 18-20 but they will still try to go for those 7+. Its when they hit their mid to late 20's that they reach their threshold and finally go for girls that they can get. Maybe because they know age is a limiting factor and they are at marrying age. Again these are just guesses and opinions. But ya I dont think ugly guys taking years to realize their threshold is because they're dumb. Its cuz they're human. :P

Sorry I should've clarified myself actually lol I'm not into guys who are exclusively into Asians. It's like your friend, not really being able to tell the difference between different Asians and thinking somebody's hot just because they tick the Asian box. As much as I love Asians, of course I don't avoid white guys altogether why does a white guy have to have an Asian fetish to consider dating an Asian?? haha I'm sure a girl can prove that wrong!!

Okay, this dude, it's a looong story and a pretty bad one but it wasn't he didn't think I was attractive, he just tends to think what we call 5s, 10s. but his tastes are kind of opposite to ours. He had lots of insecurity issues of his own, let's just say he was an expert at backhanded compliments and suppressing people!! Honestly if you tell him you got a job offer better than his or something, he'd make sure he'd talk himself up to feel superior, he won't be that happy for you or anything-worst type of guy, maybe you've met some in your life too lol Ok so he'll say something like "I think you're attractive but you're not as good looking as xxxxx and you're not as etc etc...as her and I think people would prefer her over you. Nope I'm right so you can't say otherwise etc" but this girl he's talking about would be the type that Asians dislike. Honestly for a girl to hear something like that, you just want to shake him until he snaps out of his Asian delusions. I don't hang with Asians too much so I had to ask Asian guys for their opinions on this and yeah, his type is just like that.

Yet you say that guys lower their standards from 8 to 6 when they're like 4'ish... and that white guys into asian gals find 5'ish cute although that is not cute in your book and other Asians book... Are you saying that those white guys in question are minus 3 or that she is minus 3? lol
