I dont think you can say "females in general don't care how a man looks". Id have to say no if I took that literally but I know what your trying to get at. Women are less shallow than men when it comes to the physical attractiveness of their mate. I hear a lot of " as long as he has a great personality" or " as long as he can make me laugh a lot" so women are less choosy physically but need a lot of mental stimulation to make up for that. But obviously women still want their guy to look as good as possible, looks will always be a factor, just not their primary one though.

But who says all guys are doing that to get girls? If given a choice wouldn't everybody rather look good than ugly or plain? I know a lot of people who dress up not with the intentions of impressing other people but either cuz they just like to do it or it elevates their self esteem whether they get feedback from others or not.

Shieett If I'm wearing something fly walking down the street, and no ones around to see me. I'd still feel way more confident and happy than if I was looking like a scrub.

This is actually another question I always wanted to ask, what 's the point of spending so much time and money on your appearance , trying hard to be as handsome as possible, but in the other hand those "practical" guys didn't even do the same and have a attractive GF. It is ironic that those magazines and media showing us how a handsome man should look like, nice cars, nice clothes and all, but in reality women are too practical to give a damn about your appearance.

I didn't say anything about being dirty and dressing bad intentionally , as my topic says "simple" , what I mean is not trying hard to copy those male models and puttng too much effort boosting your outlooks. Base on my own observation , women care so little how their guys look, so nice clothes aren't going to work like magic. Developing flirting/communicating skills is far more important and practical than spend time caring your haircut and clothes. I didn't make this up , it is base on my observation in real world.

also in the same clip starting at 9:57 you see the woman spending time cleaning dirty duck eggs, and when asked why does she clean the eggs, she replies that she likes them pretty.

That's lame. The prettier the girl, the more she wants in a man's looks. Because she's pretty, she has more options. I've seen tons of pretty girls who are as shallow as fu-k when it comes to a man's looks.

in seriousness, the more prettier the girl, the more they like guys with success and power like the CEO, celebrities, religious leader, OG, etc...

the lesser prettier the girl, the more they like complicated guys like doctor, scientist, intelligent guy..

What about characteristics

Women don't concern too much about it in the early stage of the relationship (or atleast they haven't seen it yet).

You most likely will see a hot girl with an ugly guy but hardly an ugly girl with a hot guy.

Well if i'm going out, i'd assume in the evening i've already got clothes on, and tbh i suppose it doesnt take more than 5 minutes in the morning, i know what i'm going to wear. I'm pretty tidy so i know where everything is. The only thing that takes time is brushing my teeth. Hair is a wedge of wax and running my fingers through.

So like i said, any longer and you know which team hes batting for.

I think that a lot of guys have a more generic brand of what they consider to be hot than girls do.
For guys, it almost seems like your friends or peers HAVE to agree that she's hot.

For girls, the rest of the world NOT liking him can sometimes be the thing that MAKES him hot to us. LMAO!
But yeah, for me hotness consists of far more than just looks. Personality, character, are just as important as looks. Especially past the first few seconds of meeting the person.

All in all, I think girls focus more on chemistry (a conglomerate of looks, personality, sex appeal, zing! factor) than just looks alone. Hotness is so much more than a bangin bod and/or a cute face...

For younger immature women (18-24 aprx) looks matter slightly more.
For women (25+ aprx) looks matter alot less (with in reason).

Interesting topic I'd say it all lays in the eye of the beholder, meaning the physique of a person rather then the esthetic beauty part.. because the physique of a person goes beyond the esthetic.. a smile, a voice etc. don't necessarily have this connotation of objective beauty that strikes, but they can touch unconsciously beyond of what they are because they can trigger an affective memory...

Still in psychoanalysis, attraction is an unconscious choice that goes back to either the mother or the father. Each smile, each look is an emotion.. We do not choose whom we are attracted to but we can choose if we wish to act on this attraction or not.
From that on we can indeed consciously choose to refuse our attraction to x or y esthetic or physique or to accept it.
I think that in order to be able to accept, most importantly you got to be someone equilibrated, which is not always evident during teenage years, and even later on some peeps (more m then f, lol) never really grow up

Everyone cares about looks to a certain extent. As long as the person's looks are tolerable, it's possible to date them. If I can look at you without thinking, "hell no", you got it made....lol Sometimes, a person's swagger, interests, or personality is very attractive. Which in turn, makes them look appealing.
