There we see classic example in Perak or some Muslims dominated states imposing
many restrictions on activites that is "allowed" as a muslim. These Clerics tries to
micro manage muslims.

Is the faith in Islam so weak that muslim has to go under strict juristiction.
If one has strong conviction about Islam, they should be disciplined based
on their own will.

somchai, Islam is a strict conformist ritualistic religion and every Muslim must conform to the traditions of Islam without deviation.

Henry123, all of us speak about Malays, Muslims, Islam, Chinese, Tamils, yet we are all very vague with what we mean. I really wonder how many Malay Muslims in Malaysia know what constitutes a Muslim and whether they conform to its tenets? Do the Chinese and Indians in Malaysia even understand what Islam means to the Malays?

Henry123, it is not just interesting but it an essential part of resolving the problem of "citizenship identity in Malaysia."
I find it really pathetic when some minority groups in Malaysia moan about being discriminated against because they are Tamil or Chinese, or Orang Puteh, Yet they have no idea of the Malay culture, or the Islamic culture that rules the Malays. Only when they take the trouble to understand this can they decided how to make decisions about their own future and the future of their children.
