‘Find source of anti-BN SMS’

PETALING JAYA: The authorities have been called upon to find the source of a chain SMS that urged Christian voters in Sarawak to vote against the Barisan Nasional Government.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Ma$hitah Ibrahim said the SMS, which Christian voters in Bintulu and Sarikei have been receiving since Sunday, was seditious.

It is a vicious and irresponsible act as it can cause chaos as well as threaten the unity and security of the country,” she said in a press statement.

She also called on the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and Home Ministry to investigate the matter.

The SMS reads: “Vote against BN is a vote for Jesus. BN is an anti-Christ agent. Christians are being discriminated and rights in Constitution denied. Don't vote for BN. If you are a true Christian, send this message to 8 other Christians.”

Dr Ma$hitah said the Barisan Government was not an anti-Christ agent and was not against Christians.

She said there was no restriction on millions of Christians from carrying out their religious activities and the Government had also established the Committee for the Promotion of Religious Understanding and Harmony.

“This (chain SMS) is a dirty tactic used by the Opposition and this shows their desperation,” she said.

She added that the state election was for citizens to exercise their rights to choose the best government to represent them and bring development to Sarawak.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is Barisan deputy chairman, accused the Opposition of intentionally provoking anger and hatred towards Barisan by playing up issues with religious elements.

He said the Opposition was exploiting religious sentiments over the AlKitab issue.

Note:
One wonders how Dr Ma$hita can explain that the sms is seditious. Who ever the culprit is, he/she is only exercising his/her freedom of speech and choice in line with her constitutional rights under Bolehland's constitutions. May be what Dr Ma$hita is really saying is that when it comes to the Christian minorities, the Law as its were will be applied differently.

Let's see how BN has been applying the law to the Christian lately.
1. The word ALLAH is still forbidden to be used by Christians even though the High court has ruled that it is unconstitutional.
2. The impounding of 35,000 Bibles for the last two years.
3. The desecration of 5000 Bibles.
4. The Islamisation of the whole of Malaysia.
These are just recent developments, and there have been more of the same in the past and no doubt more to come in the future.

Isn't it weird that the S comes out as $, how silly!

Incredible that you find something as basic and simple as the spelling hilarous, well, another to add to the long list of AF simpletons.
